Saying Goodbye

Cassandra Bird

I pick up the phone, dial your number,
You answer, cheerfully,
I'm sobbing uncontrollably,
You ask what's wrong,
I keep crying,
You sound worried now,
I tell you about the other guy,
You're crying now,
I take a breath,
You ask me "Is this the end?",
I say "Goodbye".
