Shadowy Background
Cassandra Bird
Darkness, dropping around me...
Seeping through the cracks of my once safe shelter.
It looms above me and around me,
As far as I can see.
Looming up, leering at me,
Like a monster... capturing my gaze,
Shocked into silence.
The blackness grows pitch,
Suffocating... squeezing...
Enveloping.
No longer seeing the light of day.
They're laughing at me,
In a cold sweat.
I hear pleading...
"Cassie...wake up...please...please..."
Opening my now closed eyes,
I see him...lifting away the darkness,
Shining...
Saving me...
