Two Days

Felix Blackman

I wait two days to mask my intent,
Two days of waiting, two days just went.
I want to let her know how I feel.
If I don't give her two days there is no deal.
This is the business that is women.
To the hour we wait, to overcome and then?
Why not tomorrow instead of the next day?
Do they take offence at a too soon a play?
I'm sick of playing these games,
When is it my turn to ignite those flames?
It seems I cannot ever do enough,
For them, its no good, it's just tough.
And here I am seemingly alone,
"There's plenty more in the sea!" I sarcastically groan.
Easy for you to say, you're not in my boat,
You have your underwater world, whilst I'm afloat.
Two days do pass, these feelings still here,
Still I feel I should shed a tear.
Inside my heart is torn apart,
I should send this girl off on a raft.
She doesn't deserve Two days with me,
Pay her back for the days I did see,
Did wait, did endure, for no reason.
This against my soul should be treason.
Another two days will pass.
I do not want to relieve my pain through the glass.
In Two days, I hope to smile once more,
For who knows when next those two days shall come ashore.
