What have you got to make me happy?
How can you keep me cool?
Don’t preach dead religion to me!
Don’t treat me like a fool!
What can you do to ease my pain,
When the cravings are back once more?
How the hell will you help me man,
If I’m thrashing around on the floor?
Ain’t nothing in this world for me,
‘Cept, fear and pain and death.
I’m never going to find relief
Till I take my final breath.
A guy I know played straight with me,
And told me plain and true:
“They tell us God’s in Heaven man;
They’re wrong, He’s inside you”.
“You’ve got two brains” he then explains,
“One right, the other left,
Left is for logic, right is for soul,
The trouble is, the two are cleft.”
You see my friend, we never use
Our right brain as we should;
We’re far too busy figuring with the left,
And that ain’t good.
No wonder then, since we’ve been taught
To ignore our inner feeling,
That we are searching for a dream,
To give this life some meaning.
So, our left brain is important,
Of that there is no doubt;
But if we use it all the time,
Our right brain misses out.
The secret is, to balance out
The left brain with the right;
Add spirit to your logic then,
And step into the light.
When the inner voice begins to prompt,
Please, don’t ignore it’s call,
But follow it wherever it leads,
And you’ll start walking tall.
